About Geotechnical Investigation
Geotechnical investigation is extremely important and is considered essential for the proper design and construction of any engineering project built on soil or rock. Its purpose is to determine the geotechnical conditions and the mechanical behavior parameters of the formations in the area under study.
This is achieved through various geotechnical fieldworks, such as exploratory boreholes, carried out on site. Within this framework, in-situ soil mechanics and rock mechanics tests are performed, while soil and rock samples may also be collected.
After the completion of the geotechnical investigation, the geotechnical study is carried out, during which all collected data are compiled and evaluated, and the suitability of the area for the foundation of the engineering project is assessed.
